When you live in tropical country like Brazil, you never realize that the four seasons really exist. Where I used to live we kind of use to have only two seasons: summer hot and with rain, and winter not as cold as here in Missouri, but very dry. I came to United States in the beginning of winter. I spent the holidays in San Diego and temperature there was around 50 degree, cold enough for me, but I wanted to experience real winter. So when I arrived in Springfield, when I just get off the plane it was 32 degree, now I really felt some really cold temperatures, which later the winter I would be feeling much more colder temperatures. I remember when we had the first ice/snow storm, even though most people hated it, I must that I enjoyed it very much. It was so nice see everything covered in white. I was just amazed with the whole new scenario for me. As a picture addicted I just went outdoors and took allot of pictures. I haven’t done my snow man until our last snow. I thought I was just too old for that, but what hell, this is my first snow experience and I had to do that. Next winter I will probably be in San Diego and no snow there. Tomorrow at 6:44am starts the spring and I already could notice that everything is turning green, and the flowers are starting blooming. I am looking forward for this season, I am sure I will be able to get great shots. Ah! Before I finish writing I have to explain the title. In Portuguese spring is “primavera”, and if I translate back to English “prima Vera”, separated, we get something like cousin which is “prima” and “Vera” is a person’s name. So, we end up with this Brazilian joke when spring arrives. “Welcome Cousin Vera"!
