Happy Easter

Posted by Juliano Queiroz on 8:49 PM
Today was my first Easter in the United States. I really love experience the holidays here and see how the culture around it is. Easter was a really nice experience and I could see a few differences between here and Brazil. I started the Sunday going to the church with some friends, Darlene and Skip, lovely people. Was my first experience in a catholic church here in the United States, but it is exactly the same as it is in Brazil. After the church we went to Darlene’s house, she cooked Easter dinner for her family and invited me. It was just a very nice time. I watched Darlene cooking and I offered some help, but she said she was just used to cook these whole dinners, so she was fine. She is a really good cooker and her house was just so nice. First difference I saw between here and Brazil, we don’t decorate our house for Easter like they do here, and Darlene’s house was full of bunnies and Easter eggs. Here the Easter goes around the bunny and in Brazil it goes around the Easter Eggs, we have much bigger Easter eggs and that is our thing for Easter. The lunch was delicious, I ate allot and liked it very much. Had cupcake for desert and a lemon cake, those were very good. I felt like eating that all the time. I spent the whole day there, playing with the kids, talking with everybody. I just know that I will miss them all when I go to California, but I hope they will go visit me. I have lots of chocolate to eat now, but I promise I will be a good boy and not eat all of it at once.

Easter was quiet at our house, but we are all about the chocolate and the reason for the season of course. I am glad you had a great time. ~Ms. A
